I am going to be brutally honest. For a good portion of my life, I have utterly disliked being a part of a big family. My extended family is ginormous, and being a part of a family this size means that you are constantly being compared to another relative, you have a million expectations you are expected to live up to, and you sometimes get forgotten or overlooked.
But, with all my childhood “trauma” from being a part of a big family, in recent times I have come to understand, respect and appreciate this gift that I have been given.
